U-PASS RIDE PROGRAM

SCSU and SCTCC participate in the U-Pass Ride Program. Currently enrolled SCSU and SCTCC students can ride any Metro Bus route all year by swiping their valid campus ID through the farebox. The Metro Bus U-Pass Ride program allows SCSU and SCTCC students to have unlimited Fixed Route bus service throughout the four city (St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and Waite Park) area without having to pay a fare.

ST. CLOUD STATE UNIVERSITY (SCSU)

  • Main bus stop is located at the Miller Center, on 7th St. S.
  • SCSU Shuttle Routes 91-93 operate only fall and spring semesters when class is in session. These routes typically do not operate on holidays, commencement day and during breaks. See individual schedule for specific service dates.
  • Routes 5, 8, 11, 12 operate all year, except New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. Routes end early on Christmas Eve.

ST. CLOUD TECHNICAL & COMMUNITY COLLEGE (SCTCC)

  • Metro Bus operates five routes that serve the SCTCC campus seven days a week, all year round for students, employees and visitors.
  • The main sheltered Metro Bus stop is located on Northway Drive.
  • The Health Services and Heartland Buildings are located on Routes 4 and 33.
  • Route 31 serves the west side of campus on 9th Ave.

SCSU Bus Routes

Direct service between SCSU and Crossroads Center shopping mall. Serves residential areas and apartments south of Division St. in West St. Cloud and Waite Park. Travels as far west as the corner of 10th Ave S and Sundial Dr. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center. Outbound bus stop is located only a block off campus.

Mon-Fri: Every hour with morning and afternoon peak service every 30 minutes.

Sat-Sun: Every hour.

Direct service between SCSU and Sterling Heights Park area. Serves the areas east of the Mississippi River on University Dr. SE, and as far south as 27th St SE. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Mon-Fri: Every 30 minutes until 6:00 pm, then hourly.

Sat-Sun: Hourly

Direct service between SCSU and Coborn’s grocery store on Cooper Ave. Serves residential area and apartments south of Division St., using Roosevelt Rd. to 25th Ave. Travels as far west as the corner of W. St. Germain St. and 22nd St S. This route serves Goetten’s Way neighborhood and Maine Prairie Rd. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Mon-Fri: Every 30 minutes until 6:00 pm, then hourly.

Sat-Sun: Hourly

Direct service between SCSU and area near McStop. Serves areas south of SCSU, including area near National Hockey Center, as well as further south off Clearwater Road and Heatherwood Rd. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Mon-Fri: Hourly

Sat-Sun: Hourly

On-campus shuttles from K-Lot/Husky Hub to upper campus. Operates only when SCSU is in session fall and spring semesters.

Day Shuttle – Route 91:  Mon-Fri 6:50 am – 5:29 pm, continuous service approximately every 10 minutes between SCSU Husky Hub and Wick Science Building.

Evening Shuttle – Route 92: Mon-Fri 5:30 – 7:56 pm, every 20 minutes between Husky Hub, Wick Science Building, Miller Center, Atwood and Residential Halls.

Night Shuttle – Route 93 provides service from SCSU Miller Center to off-campus housing within a defined service area. Departs from Miller Center, Atwood or Husky Hub. Tell the driver where you want to go within the service area. Your ride time depends on the number of drop-offs, no longer than 30 minutes.

Operates only when SCSU is in session fall and spring semesters.

Mon-Fri 8:00 – 11:00 pm, every 30 minutes

Sat 7:00-11:00 pm, every 30 minutes

Sun 6:30-11:00 pm, every 30 minutes

OTHER LOCAL COLLEGES

The College of St. Scholastica and Rasmussen College are located near bus stops. While these colleges do not participate in the U-Pass Ride Program, Metro Bus is still an affordable transportation option with routes operating seven days a week.
