Metro Bus has many resources to help find your way, plan your trip and get you where you need to go. All Metro Bus Fixed Routes run on a set route with pre-determined stops and schedules.

Metro Bus is closed New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and closes early Christmas Eve.

METRO BUS SMART RIDE APP

The Metro Bus Smart Ride App trip planner tool identifies fixed routes by estimated arrival time, most affordable trip, number of transfers or minimum walking time to a bus stop. Free for mobile devices.

Fixed Route stops and schedules are available for travel planning on Google Maps. Enter your starting point and destination, then select the Public Transit option.

Detours Affect Routes 2, 6, 9, 21, 22 & 31

Begins on: Tuesday 9/9/2025 at 5 AM due to utility work

Routes 2 & 31 Outbound – detour begins at the Transit Center

  • Right on 5th Av S
  • Right on Division St
  • Right on 7th Av S
  • Right on 8th St N/Veterans Dr
  • Left on 6th Av N– back on route
    • Some bus stops will not be served during this detour. No temporary bus stops have been added.
      Starting Wednesday September 10, 2025 Routes 2 and 31 Outbound from transit will be on detour due to utility work on 5th Ave. From transit, right on 5th Ave S, right on Division St, Right on 7th Ave S, right on 8th St N, left on 6th Ave N, resume route.

Route 6 Outbound – Transit Center

  • Right on 5th Av S
  • Left on Hwy 23
  • Left on wilson Av
  • Right on E St. Germain — back on route
    • A bus stop will not be served during this detour. No temporary bus stops have been added.
      Beginning Wednesday September 10 at 0500 am, route 6 will be on detour due to a lane closure for utility work. Route 6 will depart transit, right on 5th Ave S, left on Hwy 23 EB, left on Wilson Ave, Right on E. St Germain, resume route. This detour should last only one day. No temporary stops will be added.

Route 9 Outbound – detour begins at the Transit Center

  • Right on 5th Av S
  • Left on Hwy 23
  • Left on Wilson Av
  • Left on E St. Germain St.
  • Left on Riverside Dr SE — back on route
    Beginning Wednesday September 10, 2025 at 5am, the route 9 outbound will be on detour due to Utility work on 5th Ave. From Transit, Route 9 will turn right on 5th Ave So, left on Hwy 23, left on Wilson Ave NE, left on E. St. Germain, left on Riverside Dr SE, resume route. Please service the stop on E St Germain and 3th Ave NE.

Routes 21 & 22 Outbound – Transit Center

  • Right on 5th Av S
  • Left on Hwy 23
  • Left on Wilson Av — back on route
    • A bus stop will not be served during this detour. No temporary bus stops have been added.
      Beginning Wednesday September 10, 2025 at 5am, the routes 21/22 outbound will be on detour due to the utility work on 5th Ave. From Transit, Routes 21/22 will turn right on 5th Ave So, left on Hwy 23, left on Wilson Ave SE, resume route.

Detour is estimated to last one day, until September 10.

Detour Affects Route 6 Outbound

Begins on: Thursday 08/21/2025 at 5 AM, due to a road closure

Route 6 Outbound – detour begins at Lincoln Av & E St. Germain St.

  • Right on E St. Germain St
  • Left on Wilson Av SE
  • Left on 7th St SE — back on route
    • Some bus stops will not be served during this detour and are indicated with red X’s. No temporary bus stops have been added.
      Effective Thursday August 21, 2025 at 500am, Route 6 detour is modified due to an extended road closure. From Lincoln Ave and E St Germain, right E. St Germain, left Wilson Ave SE, left 7th St SE, resume route.

Detour will end when road is reopened.

Detour Affects Routes 1 & 2 in Waite Park

Begins on: Thursday 8/14/2025 due to road construction

Route 1 Outbound – detour begins at 2nd St N & 10th Av N, Waite Park

Detour will end when work is complete in approximately three weeks.

Detour Affects Route 32 in Sartell

Begins on: Monday 7/21/2025, due to a road closure in Sartell

Route 32 Outbound – detour begins at Pine Cone Rd & 7th St N, Sartell

  • Straight on Pine Cone Rd, Sartell
  • Right on 7th St N, Sartell
  • Right on Riverside Dr, Sartell — resume previous detoured route
    Beginning Monday 7/21, Route 32 outbound will be detoured due to road closure. From Pinecone Rd and 12th St N, left on 12th St N, right on Riverside Dr, resume previous detoured route.

Route 32 Inbound to the Transit Center from the Sartell High School – detour begins at Pine Cone Rd & 12th St N, Sartell

  • Left on 12th St N
  • Right on Riverside Dr  — resume previous detoured route
    Beginning Monday 7/21, Route 32 inbound will be detoured on the High School runs at 7am, 11am, and 3pm due to road closure. From Pinecone Rd and 15th St N, left on 15th St N, right on Riverside Dr, resume previous detoured route.

Detour will end when work is finished.

Detour Affects Route 12 Outbound

Begins on: Thursday 5/7/2025 at 5 AM due to road construction

Route 12 Outbound – detour begins at Clearwater Rd & 43rd St S

  • Left on Clearwater Rd — back on route
    • Some bus stops will not be served during this detour and are indicated with red X’s. No temporary bus stops have been added.
      Starting Thursday May 8, 2025, Heatherwood road will be closed. Route 12 will take a left on Clearwater Road from 43rd St. S, then resume Route. There will be no temporary bus stops for this detour.

Detour is expected to last until mid-June.

UPDATED Detour Affects Route 31 at CentraCare Plaza

Begins on: Friday 4/18/2025 at 6 AM, due to a road closure

Route 31 Outbound – detour begins at County Rd 120 & Main CentraCare entrance

  • Left at CentraCare entrance
  • Left on Centracare Cir
  • Right to Prairie East Entrance stop (Stop ID 0526) — back on route
    Beginning immediately, Route 31 outbound will be on detour due to a road closure. Detour will begin at main Centracare entrance on Co Rd 120 , left at Centracare entrance, left on Centracare Circle, right into first parking lot, resume route This detour will last until the road is open.

Detour is expected to last until road is reopened.

Detour Affects Routes 32 Inbound in Sartell

Begins on: Tuesday 4/8/2025, due to a road construction

Route 32 Inbound to the Transit Center – detour begins at 7th St N & 2nd Av N

  • Straight on 7th St N
  • Right on Riverside Av N — back on route
    • Some bus stops will not be served during this detour. No temporary bus stops have been added.
      Starting immediately, Route 32 will be on detour due to road construction. From 7th St N and 2nd Ave N, route 32 will remain on 7th St N, right on Riverside Ave N, resume route. There will be no temporary stops placed for this detour.

Detour is expected to end when construction is complete.

Detour Affects Routes 2, 6, 9, 21, 22 & 31 downtown St. Cloud

Begins on: Wednesday 4/30/2025, due to 5th Av N road closure

Routes 2, 6, 9, 21, 22 & 31 Outbound – detour begins at 5th Av and 1st St S

  • East on 1st St S
  • Left on 4th Av S
  • Left on W St. Germain St
  • Right on 5th Av S — back on route
    Starting Wednesday 4/30/2025, routes 2, 6, 9, 21, 22, and 31 leaving the Transit Center will head east on 1st St So, Left on 4th Ave So, Left on W St Germain, right on 5th Ave So, resume route. This detour is expected to last through the summer.

Detour is expected to last all summer.

There are no detours at this time.
