U-PASS FREE RIDE PROGRAM

SCSU and SCTCC students currently enrolled and participating in the student activity fee program and SCSU employees can ride any Metro Bus route all year for free by swiping their current I.D. through the farebox. The Metro Bus U-Pass Free Ride program allows SCSU and SCTCC students and SCSU employees to have unlimited Fixed Route bus service throughout the four city (St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and Waite Park) area.

ST. CLOUD STATE UNIVERSITY (SCSU)

  • Main bus stop is located at the Miller Center, on 7th St. S.
  • Routes 91-93 & 95 operate only fall and spring semesters when class is in session. These routes typically do not operate on holidays, commencement day and during breaks. See individual schedule for specific service dates.
  • Routes 5, 8, 11, 12 operate all year, except New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day. Routes end early on Christmas Eve.

ST. CLOUD TECHNICAL & COMMUNITY COLLEGE (SCTCC)

  • Metro Bus operates 5 routes that serve the SCTCC campus seven days a week, all year round for students, employees and visitors.
  • The main sheltered Metro Bus stop is located on Northway Drive.
  • The Health Services Building is located on Routes 4 and 33.
  • Route 31 and 33 serve the west side of campus on 9th Ave.

SCSU Bus Routes

Direct service between SCSU and Crossroads Center shopping mall. Serves residential areas and apartments south of Division St. in West St. Cloud and Waite Park. Travels as far west as the corner of 10th Ave S and Sundial Dr. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Mon-Fri: Every hour with morning and afternoon peak service every 30 minutes.

Sat-Sun: Every hour.

Direct service between SCSU and Sterling Heights Park area. Serves the areas east of the Mississippi River on University Dr. SE, and as far south as 27th St SE. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Mon-Fri: Every 30 minutes until 6:00 pm, then hourly.

Sat-Sun: Hourly

Direct service between SCSU and Coborn’s grocery store on Cooper Ave. Serves residential area and apartments south of Division St., using Roosevelt Rd. to 25th Ave. Travels as far west as the corner of W. St. Germain St. and 22nd St S. This route serves Goetten’s Way neighborhood and Maine Prairie Rd. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Mon-Fri: Every 30 minutes until 6:00 pm, then hourly.

Sat-Sun: Hourly

Direct service between SCSU and area near McStop. Serves areas south of SCSU, including area near National Hockey Center, as well as further south off Clearwater Road and Heatherwood Rd. One of four routes connecting SCSU to the rest of the bus system at the Transit Center.

Mon-Fri: Hourly

Sat-Sun: Hourly

On-campus shuttles from K-Lot/Husky Hub to upper campus. During daytime hours Route 91 travels between SCSU K-Lot and Wick Science building. In the evening it becomes Route 92 and extends to serve Miller Center, Atwood and Residential Halls.

Operates only when SCSU is in session fall and spring semesters.

Route 91 Mon-Fri 6:50 am – 5:30 pm, every 10 minutes.

Route 92 Sun-Wed 5:30 pm – 9:49 am, every 20 minutes.

Route 92 Thu* 5:30 pm – 11:20 pm, every 20 minutes

*Route 92 ends at 9:49 pm on Thu, Aug. 18, 2016.

Evening bus service from SCSU Miller Center to a limited area near campus. Departs from Miller Center only Sun-Thu with additional stops on campus Fri and Sat nights. Upon boarding, specify your destination within the Sundowner service area. The driver will take you to your destination.

Operates only when SCSU is in session fall and spring semesters.

Sun-Wed 6:45 pm – 10:15 pm, every 30 minutes

Thu-Sat* 6:45 pm – 12:15 am, every 30 minutes

*Route 93 ends at 10:15 pm on Fri, April 14, 2017.

Weekend Late Night Fixed Route service between downtown St. Cloud, SCSU and limited area residential areas south as 16th St. S and as far West as 9th Ave S.

Operates only when SCSU is in session fall and spring semesters.
Thu-Sat 10:20 pm – 2:35 am

OTHER LOCAL COLLEGES

The College of St. Scholastica, Minnesota School of Business and Rasmussen College are located near bus stops. While these colleges do not participate in the U-Pass Free Ride program, Metro Bus is still an affordable transportation option with routes operating seven days a week.
