Metro Bus can help you obtain your CDL permit with our Permit Prep Class. Once you have your permit we will schedule you for the CDL road test.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE APPLICATION AND HIRING PROCESS

Submit your application following the instructions on the linked webpage. The employment application is an online form you can complete electronically on your phone/desktop or in person on a kiosk at our Operations Center located at 665 Franklin Av NE, St. Cloud, MN 56304. Applications can only be submitted through the online portal.

The recruitment team will process and review applications. If you are selected to interview, you will be contacted by an HR team member to schedule your in-person interview and ride along (if applicable). The number and type of interviews may vary by role.

If the recruitment team decides to move forward after the interview, an official letter of employment will be drafted and a conditional offer will be extended. All offers are conditional to passing a drug screen, background check, licensing (Operators and Fuelers) and pre-employment/DOT physical (Operators and Fuelers).

Once the offer is accepted our HR team will connect with you to schedule new employee onboarding.

VETERANS PREFERENCE

Veterans preference is awarded to qualified veterans and spouses of deceased or disabled veterans and is added to application materials. Veterans preference is awarded subject to the provisions of Minnesota Statues 197.455.

You must supply a copy of your DD214 (Member Copy 4). Disabled veterans must also supply a Summary of Benefits Letter from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs or an equivalent letter from a service retirement board.

Spouses applying for preference must supply their marriage certificate, the veteran’s DD214 and a Summary of Benefits Letter from USDVAFL or death certificate. All required documentation must be received no later than 4:30 PM on the posted closing date.
