Public Hearing was held on Thursday, August 7, 2008, 5:30 p.m. at Sauk Rapids City Hall.
Changes in eligibility process designed to alleviate capacity constraints, trip denials and improve access were presented.
 

Approved on August 19th, these changes are will occur over the next several months:

• Revised application & no doctor’s note needed
• New in-person interview, may include functional assessment
• Conditional & unconditional certifications
• Free training to learn how to ride the fixed route system
• Current users will need to go through re-certification process under new rules

The August 7th meeting was for Metro Bus staff and Commissioners to hear comments about the proposed changes before making a decision on implementing the changes at the Tuesday, August 19th board meeting.  The changes are in compliance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations.
