What's New For Fall Semester 2008?

Metro Bus routes now run on Sunday!
Updated schedules for Fall Semester are available for download.
Late Nite returns for Fall Semester with an improved schedule.
Husky Shuttle runs later until 2:20 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights and starts up earlier at 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.
SCSU schedules now feature an operating days calendar so you know when Metro Bus is running.
The new 2008/2009 Apartment Guide is available for download below.
 

Late Nite service is back for Fall Semester 2008 - Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights.

New and improved schedules with shorter wait times and faster service from downtown to campus.
Late Nite South runs every 15 minutes, while Late Nite East and West routes run every half-hour from 8:45 p.m. to 2:41 a.m Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Providing safe and convenient late night transportation connecting campus to downtown, some of the highest density student housing areas primarily along current Clipper routes and added connections to Cub/Walmart and Coborns Superstore.
The service is paid for 100% by the students on a credit hour fee. SCSU students and employees ride free like all other Metro Bus routes by swiping their ID. ID's are required for the free ride. All other riders will pay general public fares.
SCSU Students will want to give the Late Nite routes a try fall semester.   Fall and Spring Semesters Late Nite operating calendar is shown below.
Schedules can be downloaded here or picked up at Atwood Center, on any Metro Bus, or the Metro Bus Transit Center downtown.

Ride Free All Year Long Seven-Days-a-Week with the U-PASS FREE RIDE Program!!

The Metro Bus U-Pass Free Ride program allows all students and employees to have unlimited fixed route bus service throughout the four city (St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and Waite Park) area to both St. Cloud State University (SCSU) and St. Cloud Technical College (SCTC) campuses.
During the school year (including summer semester) all currently enrolled students and employees are eligible to ride any Metro Bus Fixed Route free by either using their SCSU student or employee I.D. or by using a SCTC Free Ride U-Pass (obtainable from the SCTC Book Stop with a valid I.D.).  The U-Pass Free Ride program is paid for by the administrations and students of SCSU and SCTC, and Metro Bus.

Metro Bus University Services provide many bus options for students and employees of St. Cloud State University seven days a week, early mornings and until after 2 AM. Metro Bus fixed routes, including University and Campus Clippers, Husky Shuttle, Sundowner and Late Nite are free to SCSU students and employees through the U-Pass Free Ride Program by simply using your ID.

Our main bus stop area comprised of two sheltered stops are located on the south side of the Miller LRC.

Routes that serve the SCSU Campus:


University

This route connects the SCSU campus with the rest of the Metro Bus's general public fixed route system seven days a week at the Metro Bus Transit Center, downtown St. Cloud.

Campus Clipper Northeast
Campus Clipper South
Campus Clipper Southeast
Campus Clipper West
These routes hub out of the Miller Learning Resources Center (LRC) on the SCSU campus Monday through Friday during fall and spring semesters providing connections to major student housing areas throughout St. Cloud and Waite Park.

Husky Shuttle
This runs regular daytime hours every 10 minutes Monday - Friday and extended nighttime hours every 20 minutes Sunday - Thursday providing direct connections from the Q and K commuter parking lots to the heart of the SCSU campus. For 2008/2009 Husky Shuttle runs until 2:20 a.m. Sunday - Thursday nights and starts up earlier at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.  The main K Lot pick up location is the Husky Hub on 3rd Avenue south of the National Hockey Center.

Sundowner
Running seven nights a week during fall and spring semesters, the Sundowner evening off-campus shuttle services a limited area surrounding campus and across the river departing the Miller Learning Resources Center.  Free to all SCSU students and employees with your ID.  Friday and Saturday nights, the Sundowner provides direct service every 20 minutes to K and Q lots for students to get to their cars.  Two evening departures seven nights a week cross Highway 10 to areas along 15th Avenue SE & E. St. Germain to Cedar Square Apts. at 11:45 p.m. and 12:15 a.m.

Operating Times:

Campus Clipper, Husky Shuttle, Sundowner and Late Nite routes operate only fall and spring semesters.  These routes do not operate when classes are not in session (except during final exams), New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day.  Operating calendars can be found on all SCSU routes schedules.

Additional Information:

Up to two children five and under ride free with a paid fare on any Metro Bus.

Lost and Found items can be recovered at the Metro Bus Transit Center. Call 251.RIDE (7433) first to make sure your item has been found.

Metro Bus fixed route service does not operate New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Metro Bus suspends service early in the evening on Christmas Eve.
