Metro Bus Fixed Route | Bike & Board Return to Home Page
A bike is loaded on the bike rack.
All fixed route Metro Buses are equipped with bicycle racks that can transport up to two bikes at a time. Bicycle riders throughout the St. Cloud area have an easy way to safely get across town or just a few blocks with Metro Bus’s Bike & Board program. Take your bike with you on your bus trip. If the nearest Metro Bus route is beyond walking distance or inclement weather stops you from riding your bike, you can take your bike to the bus stop, load it on a Metro Bus and proceed on your way.
Get Started With Bike & Board
You’ll need a Bike & Board permit. Before using the Bike & Board rack on a Metro Bus, a permit must be obtained from the Transit Center Downtown. The permit card costs $1.00. Permits are issued after completing and signing a release form. Bicycle riders must be at least 12 years of age to use the Bike & Board rack, unless accompanied by a permit-carrying adult. It is simple to use the Metro Bus Bike & Board rack. Simple instructions are printed directly on the rack mounted on the front of the bus. By following the instructions on the rack, your bike will be held securely in place.
The bike rack will hold most wheel and frame sizes including children’s bikes. Bikes can be loaded and unloaded from the outside first then the inside rack position. The bikes on the rack do not touch each other, the bus, or other vehicles.
Metro Bus is not liable for damage to the bicycle and other property connected to the bicycle, except in the event that Metro Bus is found to be negligent or at fault in an accident. Theft, damage, injury loading and unloading, acts by a third party, and all other incidents are solely the responsibility of the rider/cyclist, and not Metro Bus.
